Stout Street Foundation

Starting in the spring of 2001, this ministry began as a weekly Bible study with members of Stout Street Foundation, a two-year in-patient drug and alcohol rehab program based in Denver, but with a division in Estes Park. The Foundation owns and runs the Lazy B Chuck Wagon in the summer. Most years, the residents have stayed at the Ranch throughout the winter working other jobs in the area. When the residents were all returned to Denver in the winter of 2002-2003, it appeared that the ministry might be over, but with the return of residents in May of 2003, the ministry started up again.

Five of the six Stout Street residents are members of our church, attend church regularly, and are starting to become more involved in the Church family, as they are able. In September 2003, four of the residents at that time were baptized in Christ at the Mountain Men’s Night Out at Lost Antlers Ranch. Two of those men are still with the Estes Park program and are very active in both the Bible study and church. One more resident was baptized at his old street church in Denver on March 14, 2004. One other resident was baptized before he came to Estes Park. The ministry has grown to include participation by other church members in the Bible Study, but the primary contacts from the church are Jeffrey Youngbluth and Harry Graham. The ministry has been a great blessing to these two men, the Stout Street residents, and the church family as a whole, as the men of Stout Street work at rebuilding their lives and find the best way to do it is through their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
