Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based version of a 12-step recovery program, designed by Pastor John Baker at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in southern California. Based on the Beatitudes, with Jesus Christ as our Higher Power, we can and will change! Celebrate Recovery is a program designed to help Christians with their “hurts, habits, and hang-ups”, not just compulsive addictions.
In late 2002, Harry and Carol Graham facilitated the first Celebrate Recovery group. The seven attendees completed the 26-lesson program in October of 2003. The group met weekly in a safe, non-threatening small-group format. Future groups are anticipated through Christian Church of Estes Park. This ministry changes lives and has touched the seven who were the “pilot” class.
