InterFACE Ministries - Golden, CO
Dear Ones at Christian Church in Estes Park,
Here is an overview of the ministry that the Lord has allowed us the privilege
of being team members with you to minister to international students from around
the world.
Our goal is to share Christ's love and message of hope to the approximately 400
students and their families from an average of 60 countries who attend the
Colorado School of Mines each year. Further, we seek to disciple and equip those
who receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior to be His witnesses in their
native cultures.
The three major bridges that we use to meet and develop relationships with students are:
"Discover America" - Cultural and social events throughout the year that are
designed to allow students, their families and friends the opportunity to meet
other students and Americans, and to learn something about American culture.
Events include activities such as sightseeing tours, cultural and social events,
and observing religious celebrations. Part of this group of activities includes
the "Garage Give Away" This once a year event is planned each August the Friday
before classes start for the fall semester. It offers used household items (from
large furniture to small appliances) free of charge to students and their
families. Free transportation of large furniture items is also provided to
student's homes within the Golden area.
"Conversational English Classes for Women" - Held September through May on
Thursday mornings. These classes seek to provide an opportunity for
conversational English as well as practical help in adapting to life in the
"States" and learning more about US cultural. Child care also provided.
“International Bible Exploration Time”
(10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., each Sunday morning) -
Christian and non-Christians are invited to attend. We focus around fellowship,
worship and study of God’s word by allowing students the opportunity to practice
English, sing songs, and examine a Bible story in small group settings.
Children attend classes for their own age groups during the Sunday School time
which runs during the same time that we meet in a local church.
We have also been able to have “Midweek Evangelism and Discipleship Classes” –
the sizes of these classes are usually small, ranging from one to five members
on average.
The Lord gave us a record number of students who trusted Jesus as their Savior
this last school year (eight) and a total of nine students who were discipled
this year as well.
Thanks so much for your partnership in so many ways. You are an encouragement
and blessing to us and the students. May the Lord bless each of you in all ways
(2 Chron. 16:9a).
Together in His fields,
